Your attitude towards success will determine where your journey towards freedom will lead. Freedom to me is about having control over my time and my daily life, what I do for a living and who I choose to associate with. It also means not having to worry about my finances and if I am going to have enough money to maintain my desired quality of life. This is why being an entrepreneur was the absolute right move for me. It gave me the type of freedom that I wanted and deserved in my life.

Although this may sound great, being an entrepreneur is no walk in the park. Earning your freedom through entrepreneurship will likely require working longer hours and less financial security in the beginning. You will also need to take on additional risk since there is no guarantee that your business endeavors will be successful in the end. This could mean significant time and money wasted. On the other hand, if things do end up working out and your business becomes profitable and self-sustaining, you may find yourself with the financial freedom you have always dreamed about.

Another challenge that many entrepreneurs encounter is maintaining a healthy work-life balance. When you work for yourself many times it is not easy to leave your work in the office. Alternatively, if you are working and getting paid hourly for somebody else then when you clock out of your work shift, you are done, and it is much easier to not think about work and enjoy your free time. As an entrepreneur you have the opportunity to work as much as you can and at almost any time you want, which provides you with the advantage of a flexible schedule, but the trick is knowing when to stop and relax and rejuvenate.

Now that you see all of the challenges that you may encounter as an entrepreneur, you can compare to how it would be if you were working for somebody else as an employee. Although you will not have the challenges of being an entrepreneur, you will not be working towards any type of goal for yourself. You will not be working towards your own financial freedom, and you will not be working on your own schedule that you have control over.

Instead, you will be laboring for somebody else’s goals. You will be breaking a sweat to make sure somebody else has financial freedom. You will be confined to the schedule that is best for your employer while your employer will have freedom over his or her time.

Of course, everybody is different and being an entrepreneur is not for everybody. If you do not have the right attitude that allows you to see the bigger picture, you will become overwhelmed with the challenges of being an entrepreneur. However, if you have the right attitude about what real freedom means you will position yourself to achieve success in your business endeavors.

Remember, success is never an accident.
