Ask and you shall receive. When it comes to business many people may have a hard time believing that this saying could be applicable. However, they would be mistaken in that view. In fact, oftentimes that is exactly how it works in the business world. The following is just one example of how I have applied it to my own business endeavors.

I was wondering to myself what is it that holds people back from achieving success. Or what is it that keeps people from going into business for themselves? After some ruminating I realized that what stops many people is that they are afraid to ask for opportunity or they think it is a waste of time to do so. They may even be afraid of doing so. Usually, whether or not we achieve financial independence and find the freedom to not have to work for somebody else depends entirely on ourselves.

One example from my time in business where I straight out asked for an opportunity was during a meeting with my friend who was a general manager at a large company here in Hawaii. In this meeting I specifically asked him for an opportunity. I asked him, “What are you buying a lot of right now?” I then asked him if I were able to bring that same product to him or another one of higher quality at a lower price would he be interested in taking a look. Of course, he said yes to this.

I then proceeded to bring him the better product that I had promised, and he immediately signed on as a customer of my business. In fact, his company became one of our most lucrative contracts for the next five years. We have fulfilled many orders from his company and have had over a million dollars in sales just from this one account. All I had to do was ask for the opportunity.

Now, I had no idea what that item was which he purchased and sold the most of when I requested this meeting with him. But I knew that I did not have to know since I knew he would tell me exactly what that item was. And simply by asking, he told me exactly what his need was, and I was able to tell him I could fulfill this need for a better price. Within two weeks I was able to capitalize on my network and experience and sourced the product and brought it to him to take a look at.

Now, you may be thinking to yourself that I just got lucky that I was able to even get the meeting in the first place. Well, I can tell you that it was no accident that things lined up this way. In my book “Peeling Life’s Onion” I let you in on the tactics and strategies I used to make sure I was positioned to be able to schedule this important meeting.

Really, once I found the buyer and found out what product was needed, I knew it would be easy from there. In fact, sourcing the product is usually the easy part. I teach you how to do all of this in my course. However, for now, just start with the eBook which I promise will set you in the right direction towards achieving your dreams.

And remember this. Success is never an accident.
